For over a decade, Mr. Guns has supplied the Cedar Valley with firearms of exceptional quality and the knowledge to back it up. The shooting range was added to Mr. Guns five years ago after moving to their current location at K Line Drive in Waterloo. Under new owner Elliott Halsch, the business has one clear goal in mind: be the Cedar Valley’s premier firearm shop that arms, educates and trains its customers.

Meet Elliott
A native of Iowa City, Elliott has been around guns his entire life. He grew up hunting on his family’s 100-acre plot before relocating to the Cedar Valley to attend the University of Northern Iowa, where he was first introduced to Mr. Guns. He and his father bought matching guns on Elliott’s 21st birthday, a FN9S handgun he still has to this day.
As a self-described student of the industry, Elliott frequented Mr. Guns after that first purchase, often purchasing guns, ammo or gear two to three times a week. When the opportunity came to take over the business, Elliott jumped at the opportunity. He knew that his background in real estate and customer service, paired with his knowledge and passion for guns, would help improve the company. In addition to managing the business, Elliott takes part in competitive pistol shooting and continues to hunt.
